This study aims to explore the role of virtual societies across social media sites in changing the characteristics of cultures and societies and the resulting challenges to society's security and safety.

the phenomenon has become increasingly widespread and complex with developments in information and communication technology through the so-called "multimedia", which has allowed different groups of society to enter the virtual world, to become an available space through which various issues are promoted without control.

Algerian society is among the most widely used social media in view of the dramatic increase in the number of users involved in this space, which calls for concerted efforts to activate standards of security within state institutions and to regulate laws and legislation to curb this phenomenon, which has begun to intensify and intensify with successive waves of globalization.
