Abstract EN

The institution of the presidency of the republic is considered in the Tunisian constitution as one of the most important state institutions that have been given great importance, due to the historical role that this institution played under previous regimes, in accordance with the requirements of the new Tunisian constitution promulgated in 2022.

we find that the president of the republic exercises the executive function, after it was an executive authority in the previous Tunisian constitutions, and he is the head of state.

in view of the importance of this institution, the provisions of the Tunisian constitution for the year 2022 required several conditions for ascending to the presidency of the republic.

through this study, we tried to highlight the most important conditions that must be met by the candidate, which were kept and included in the previous constitutions, in addition to the new ones.
