This research paper sheds light on the rights of refugees and the principles that govern these rights.

it also highlights the extent to which governments respect these rights, taking into account that the international community sought to determine the reasons of applying for asylum through the 1951 refugee convention and other regional agreements, and thus determine the commitment of the home country, the host country, and the asylum-seeker himself/ herself to keep the refugees’ rights from being violated by governments.

nevertheless, the current international situation has witnessed widespread violations of these principles all over the world.
