Abstract EN

This article is concerned with tracing the cultural aspects during the reign of great bey Mohammed al-Kabir ,and the extent of his contribution to the revival of the scientific movement in the Western Algerian people, being the most prominent beys of ottoman Algeria in the last quarter of the eighteenth centry ,shedding light on the personality of the bey Mohammed al-Kabir, with mentioning the manifestations of intellectual recovery during the period of his rule, including the establishment of cultural and allocation of endowments to them, as well as his interest in the formation of an educated elite linking science and jihad, while encouraging them to the movement of authorship and copying, both students and professors, especially the category of scholars as they are the main body of the administration of province and their assistance in political and cultural sues, without neglecting for his keenness on the education sector, providing it with all material and moral means, and taking religious and linguistic sciences as the basis of education, by and foreign sources that dated to bey Muhammad al-Kabir thanks to the rise of his star in the liberation of Oran in 1792 and his founding of a cultural project aimed at achieving as scientific renaissance and keeping pace with literary and scientific development that was taking place in the Arab and European countries.
