The Algerian legislator sought, according to law No.

07-17, which includes the amended and supplemented Algerian code of criminal procedure, to make a number of amendments to the criminal court system, in line with the constitutional amendment of 2016, amended and supplemented by the constitutional amendment of 2020, and obligated the judges of the criminal court to justify the rulings issued for criminal courts, whether first or appeal, considering that reasoning is one of the greatest guarantees imposed by the law on the judiciary, embodying the litigant’s right to a fair trial, and strengthening control over the authority granted to judges to prevent their arbitrariness and limit errors that may taint the operative rulings issued by them.
