The right to adequate housing was recognized as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living in the universal declaration of human rights of 1948, and enshrined in the international covenant on economic social and cultural rights in 1966.

states ratifying these treaties have been obliged to realize the right to adequate housing by taking legislative and regulatory measures and protecting this right from various attacks.

through this study, we will try to show the extent to which Algeria has implemented its obligations to guarantee the right to housing of its citizens through the reports of the united nations as a ratifying state for various international human rights instruments.
