This article aims to shed light on the importance of family farming in the development of the rural family as it is a common pattern in all countries of the world and the extent of its contribution to improving their living conditions, based on the multiple indicator cluster fourth survey (MICS 4) database, where we seek to highlight the impact of the most important demographic, socio-professional and geographic factors of the sample members on their living situation.

the results showed that 72% of the sample members who work in the agricultural field practice the activity of family farming, also, 76.5% of the sample members have a "very poor" living situation, and this percentage is concentrated according to gender more among females and according to age among the elderly and young people, as for the socio-professional situation, it is concentrated in the category who practice family farming activity as helpers to their families, and it declines among the sample members who practice family farming as a private activity.

as for the regional programming spaces, this percentage is concentrated in the high plateaus, central and Western.
