Abstract EN

The Algerian legislator created a financial information processing unit, which is the independent regulatory authority based on the principle that the government cannot intervene in the regulation of the economic system, and which took charge of the reception of statements concerning the suspicion of money laundering operations sent by the authorities and the persons who are responsible of notification, the legislator gradually recognized the functional and organic independence of the unit from the supervisory ministry because it was an essential matter for it to exercise its jurisdiction.

the main objective of this study is to demonstrate how much the financial information processing unit enjoys financial independence thanks to the continuous amendment of the legal texts in the field of money laundering until the last legal text which is the executive decree 22-36 issued on January, 04, 2022 which is entirely devoted to it.
