Abstract EN

This research aims to provide an overview of linguistic codes, and to try to answer some of the questions that float in thought, such as: what are linguistic codes, the most important historical stations of their origin, and the factors of their development.

the method adopted in our study was the descriptive method that could lead us to the most important results that could be reached.

the most important of which is: the passage of linguistic codes before they are completed in several stages-thanks to the precedence in building linguistic codes for Arab linguists-and there is an urgent need for a comprehensive linguistic code that covers all levels and variations of language.

in the light of these results, this study proposes several recommendations, including: encouraging research work to create high-quality Arabic linguistic codes-teaching this specialization in Algerian universities.
