Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the main factors affecting the labor market balance in Algeria during the period 1980-2021, by analyzing the relationship between the unemployment rate and some macroeconomic variables using autoregressive models with distributed lag.

the study also presented the most important stages that the labor market in Algeria went through during the study period, furthermore the main characteristics of employment supply and demand.

the results reflect a significant negative long-term relationship between each of the variable government expenditure and oil prices, on the unemployment rate, and a significant positive long-term relationship between gdp and unemployment.
