Abstract EN

This study aims to adress a sensitive period in the history of Algeria, represented in the first reform attempts in the late 18th century and early 20 th century, it also aims to clarify the most important internal and external factors that effected it, and it highlights the most important pioneers who carried the torch of reformist though in Algeria in that period, and to explain the role of the national press, associations and cultural clubs in the manifestation of the signs of the modern Algerian renaissance.
