It has become undeniable that the presentation of one poem to different readers will result in getting multiple interpretations.

This pluralism is the focus of this study.

So, this paper will shed light on the Arab thinking style in the laws of receiving poetry through two models Al-Jahiz(225AH) and al-Jarjari (471AH) via two major mediums represented in the oral and the written.

Receiving Arabic poetry is a basic introduction to answering two fundamental questions in the history of rhetoric and Arabic criticism.

These questions are concern renewing the rhetorical vision and transcending its educational limits that are confined in the explication of the "al-Miftaḥ" ; and the early awareness of the Arab thinking about the characteristics of the recipient and its role in making the rhetorical process a success.
