Abstract EN

The small projects have an important place in the priorities of the Yemeni Government, as they are one of the principle methods in the economic and social development.

The small projects have achieved economic returns which are positively reflected on the gross domestic product.

This research aims to highlight the importance of the small projects and to identify the most significant obstacles and challenges that face these projects.

These is no doubt that the world has recently witnessed an increasing interest in the small projects.

The international experiments proved that these projects are one of the pillars of the economic development that the states' economy is based on to face the challenges resulted from the global economic development and associated crises.

The small project are considered bridges for progress and development and methods to fulfill a number of economic goals in the developed and developing countries alike.

The most important findings of this research are: the small projects face a set of challenges such as licensing procedures, adhering to routine, long and costing procedures.

In addition, there is no appropriate environment for the projects, unavailable assistant bodies to guide such projects, and shortage of funding which is necessary for the small projects.

Finally, the research concluded with a number of recommendations.

The most important ones are: there must be funding governmental channels that help in providing soft and suitable loans for these projects to overcome the insufficient funding; to provide necessary consultation, studies and information during the stages of establishment, construction and production; to contribute in the developing techniques of marketing and workforce qualification.
