Abstract EN

This study aimed to measure the levels of mathematical proficiency and its components (conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, Strategic competence, adaptive reasoning) among grade five students in Arras city.

The sample was 82 male and 39 female students and the study tool was a test self-made by the researcher.

Findings showed that the students’ levels were high for mathematical proficiency, conceptual understanding, procedural fluency and Strategic competence and were middle for adaptive reasoning.

Also, it showed that there were no statistically differences between the students male and female levels in mathematical proficiency, conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.

Whereas there were statistically differences between the students male and female levels in Strategic competence and adaptive reasoning for female.
