Abstract EN

This paper aims to participate in the debates about the value and utility of the notion of post-feminism as a seemingly "new" moment marked by a resurgence of interest in feminism in the media and among young women.

It raises questions about the meaning of feminism and highlights the multiplicity of different feminisms with their successive waves, philosophical and intellectual currents, strategies, and working agendas, which are often in tension with each other.

it focuses on the third-wave feminism represented by postmodern feminism and its main intellectual currents : diversity feminism, and deconstruction feminism, as the most prominent theoretical basis for post-feminism.

The research on "post-feminism" begins by exploring the meaning of the prefix "post" in the term as well as an overview of post-feminism’s strong ties to popular culture and media, especially films, consumerism, and postmodern individualism.

The paper explains the theoretical underpinnings of this concept in relation to other "posts" : Postmodernism, post-structuralism, and post-colonialism.

Here it concerns with the fluidity of identity, transgression of borders, the multiplicity of differences, and deconstructions of terms as proposed by postmodernism.

it examines some of the issues dealt with by contemporary post-feminism and is specifically concerned with the issue of victims and reality, work and equality, femininity and masculinity, sexuality and equality, marriage and family, and women and motherhood.

in the last part, the paper reads the significance of post-feminism, mainly its political, social, and relational implications, and politics.

the paper ends up concluding that it is difficult to find a strict and firm definition of post-feminism but among its basic characteristics, we can count the comeback of femininity (accompanied by a constant critique of feminism), the interdependence with mass media and popular culture, the economic and sexual freedom.

what is unique about post-feminism and which distinguishes it from earlier feminisms, is that it works to achieve its goals through apolitical politics.
