Violence in educational institutions is one of the most prominent problems facing the education sector in Algeria, and this may negatively affect the building of sound educational relations between teacher and student, which prompted us to conduct a field study on this phenomenon to diagnose it and identify its most important causes, and we proceeded from two hypotheses that wrong family upbringing and family disintegration contribute to the students' tendency to engage in violence within the school, as it is a reproduction of the behaviors they learned and witnessed within their families, to test the two hypotheses, we conducted a field study at the secondary level that included 124 students.

forms were distributed to them containing a set of questions that are indicators of the hypotheses put forward.

after statistical reading of the data and sociological analysis, we concluded that the family environment in which the student is raised, if it is characterized by violence and disintegration, will contribute to this student's practice of violence within his school as a kind of imitation of what he experienced within his family.
