Abstract EN

The main goal of this research is to identify the relationship between the two learning styles (superficial-deep) and the mental wandering (inadvertent-deliberate) at a sample of students enrolled in the faculty of education at the Free Aleppo University.

to achieve this goal, the scholar applied modified studying processes questionnaire with the two factors of rspq-2f prescribed by Khuzam, to assess the two styles of learning (superficial-deep) and test mental wandering(inadvertent- deliberate).

the questionnaire is prepared by the scholar based on the analytical descriptive approach.

fairness and consistency check of the applied tools accredited.

this research was applied to arbitrary layered sample of 110 students enrolled in the faculty of education, 44 male, 66 female.

the results showed a direct correlation between the style of superficial learning and inadvertent mental wandering, while there was no relationship between the style of superficial learning and deliberate mental wandering, in addition to the lack of any relationship between the style of deep learning and the inadvertent and the deliberate mental wandering.

the results also showed a high level of inadvertent and deliberate mental wandering at the members of the sample.

the results, on the other hand, showed no statistically significant disparities between the two learning styles (superficial-deep) and the mental wandering (inadvertent-deliberate) related to the variable of gender.
