Global justice cannot be served as long as the most heinous crimes go unpunished.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine triggered a massive human rights war as well as a humanitarian crisis and exodus that led to the worst disaster in modern European history, thus upsetting the balance of peace and global security.

Beyond any prior doubt, international law defines conflict as armed and international with all its characteristics and conditions.

Consequently, the intervention of the International Criminal Court is expected in order to deal with the crimes committed in Ukraine.

This research paper attempts to cover the nature of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, analyzing the crimes committed, and the role of the International Criminal Court in resolving the conflict.

Undoubtedly, political interests and hegemony reflect the fragility of international law, thus leading to the emergence of obstacles preventing the court from delivering justice.

La justice ne peut sévir dans le monde tant que les crimes les plus odieux restent impunis.

L'invasion russe de l'Ukraine a déclenché une guerre massive et une crise humanitaire qui ont conduit à la pire catastrophe de l'histoire européenne récente, compromettant ainsi la paix et la sécurité mondiales.

En conséquence, l’intervention de la Cour pénale internationale est attendue afin de faire face aux crimes commis en Ukraine.

Cette contribution tente de faire la lumière sur la nature du conflit russoukrainien, les crimes commis, et le rôle de la Cour pénale internationale dans le règlement de ce conflit.

Les intérêts politiques et le désir d'hégémonie reflètent la fragilité du droit international et l’impuissance de la Cour à rendre justice .
