Abstract EN

This study aimed to highlight the importance of applying corporate governance in Takaful insurance companies as one of the main pillars in the system of Islamic financial institutions.

Others The ownership of most of the active Takaful insurance companies is characterized by family ownership, which opens the door more for managers to seek to achieve their own interests, in addition to its uniqueness in the presence of two boards (the board of directors and the Sharia board), which may overlap between them in many cases.

The study concluded that the effective application of corporate governance would enhance the performance of Takaful insurance companies by solving agency problems and developing insurance markets, their efficiency and effectiveness, in addition to achieving the protective insurance function
