Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the level of both psychological distress and achievement motivation for the orphan schooled child and the extent of the existence of a relationship between these two variables, and the descriptive correlational approach was relied upon, as we deliberately chose the sample estimated at (120 orphans), and to collect data, a psychological distress questionnaire was used Prepared by Latifa Majed Mahmoud and Sari Jassim Muhammad 2016, and the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire prepared by Othman Kamal Mustafa Hazeen 2014.

The validity of the tools in the current study was confirmed by calculating their psychometric characteristics.

After statistical treatment by the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS), we reached the following results: The level of psychological security and achievement motivation for the schooled orphan child is average, as well as the existence of a correlation between the psychological security of the schooled child and his motivation for achievement.
