This study aims to follow the historical trajectory of diplomacy from traditional to digital, Regarding the literature review and conceptual framework of this new phenomenon and asymmetric models of communication in public relations.

Besides, our analysis will focus on the role of social media, particularly Facebook and Twitter, and the fundamental changes that have affected diplomacy in concept and practice.

This paper also aims to shed light on new players thanks to digital diplomacy and its effects on the international relations scene.
