The present study discusses concept, the importance, and objectives of a tertiary education policy in general, and in Algeria in particular.

It attempts toinvestigate the philosophi calunderpinnings of such a policy Undoubtedly, there has been a growing interest in the topic and understanding its frameworks features a prerequisite to identifying the reform required in this sector and identifying the reasons that motivated policy makers in Algeria to reform it in order to keep pace with international updates On the other hand, we demonstrate the challenges facing Algeria's higher education policy in its path towards internationalization Depending on these discussions weconclude by analysis that summarziesour understanding of both the positive and the negative aspects of thes ereforms pertaining to international benchmarks in particular.
