The natural field of Biskra state is characterized by diversity due to its transitional location between two different physical regions, the mountainous region of the Saharan Atlas - Aures - in the north and the desert region in the south, which led to the diversity of natural environments; Mountainous, plain, depressions, and plateaus.

This diversity of terrain was reflected in the diversity of soil and the multiplicity of water resources from ground to surface, in addition to the diversity of the geological structure.

All this diversity was reflected in the economic capabilities, especially the agricultural ones.
