The study aimed to identify the role of the family context in the selection of study programs and levels of occupational hesitation from the point of view of the twelfth grade students in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, and to reveal the presence of statistically significant differences in the role of the family context in the selection of study programs and levels of occupational hesitation due to the variables of gender and type of study.

And the investigation of the statistically significant relationship between the role of the family context in the selection of study programs and levels of occupational hesitation.

A questionnaire about the role of the family context in choosing study programs (prepared by the researcher) and the occupational hesitation scale (Gati et al, 1996) was applied to a random sample consisting of (208) male and female students in the twelfth grade.

The results of the study concluded that there is a small role for the family context in the selection of study programmes, and that the levels of occupational hesitation came to a medium degree.
