The effects of video games on the cultural growth of children and their behavior: the perspective of algerian parents

This article aims deals with the impact of video games on children from the perspective of Algerian parents; who happen to be the most capable of observing these effects on the behavior and cultural growth of their children.

Our study relied on a descriptive approach and a purposive sample of 120 individual.

An online questionnaire of 17 sections was distributed to the parents and through it, we explored their opinions on the positive and negative effects of video games on their children.

The study concluded that the negative effects are much more prominent than their positive counterparts.

The reason behind that is the lack of awareness when it comes to handling this virtual world, which in itself is a combination of positives as well as negatives and dangers.
