Abstract EN

This article examines the role the mainstream media played to get Barack Obama elected in 2008.

The article argues that the media openly took sides in favor of the Democratic candidate and that the one-sided coverage of the campaign amounted to blatant bias.

The methodology adopted in this article is based on analysis and argumentation.

The work is based on the works of media experts and the press releases by reporters who covered the 2008 campaign.

The process consists of selecting the relevant data and of analyzing and juxtaposing the key arguments of Obama's supporters and opponents.

The article concludes that the failure of the media in delivering fair and balanced coverage of the campaign significantly affected the outcome of the election
