Abstract EN

This study aimed to monitor how Algerian youth -Facebook users- deal with falsenews in light of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic through the social networkingsite Facebook.

The study relied on the survey method, and an electronicquestionnaire was applied to a sample of 81 respondents, the most important resultsof our study were as follows: - The results showed that the degree of respondents' trust in Facebook as aprimary source for obtaining information has decreased with the advent of thecorona crisis.

- The study showed that the respondents are receptive to official sources toinvestigate the facts about the Covid-19 pandemic.

- The results of the study showed that the study sample members became morecautious when consuming information circulated through Facebook.

- The results of the study showed that the significant shortage of full officialinformation was what sample members led to the alternative to their knowledgeand psychology.
