This study examines the perspectives of new realists for the balance of power in Post-Cold War International order, as it reviews the adjustments presented by the new realists to the theory of balance after the collapse of the balanced bipolar system, to adapt to the new world order characterized by unipolarity.

it also discusses the difference betwen the scholars of realism (defensive, offensive, neo-classical) on their interpretation of the nature of international polarity in the twenty-first century, and offers various realistic perspectives to the rise of china in east Asia.

this study conclude that the rising Chinese power poses the most important challenge to the United States of America, as it is the dominant power in the system.

this rise is offset by a decline in American power and paralleled by the economic growth of other international powers, which contributes to changing the nature of international polarity in the direction of multipolarity or bipolarity, but in a different way from the Cold War system.
