Political backwardness is a stage that accompanies corruption and it leads to the collapse of the economic structures and the social fabric of the sate due to the absence of the state of law and rights and the absence of awareness of reconstructing the state in accord with certain rules, which will contribute to the fulfillment of right, dignity and social justice and the like.

political backwardness also generates the so-called political crisis that is one of the remarkable results of a decade of the political authoritarianism which is the situation a number of developing countries have experienced, especially in North Africa and the Middle East.

doubtless, one of the prominent characteristics of the political authoritarianism is authoritarianism and propensity towards monopolizing the power and thus the absence of the participatory approach and the democratic and peaceful devolution of power through free and fair elections this study aims at investigating the extent to which the tyranny of the political regimes contributes to the prevalence of the political backwardness demonstrating its significant determinants and the extent to which it impedes democracy.
