Abstract EN

The social distancing and the isolation policies imposed by the outbreak of Corona Pandemic(COVID-19)have led to the closure of educational institutions, such as schools and universities, on a large scale in at least (61) countries.

Many countries, such as Qatar, began to resort to an alternative education system known as the distance education system.

Students with visual impairment required special educational care and feedback, so it was necessary to prepare and use teaching models within the distance education system that suit students with this type of disability.

Therefore, the researchers attempted to prepare a teaching model through distance education based on the mind habits to develop metacognitive skills and attitudes towards distance education for students with visual impairments at Qatar University, and measure the effectiveness of this proposed teaching .

The research used both the descriptive and quasi experimental model approach, and the results indicated the effectiveness of the teaching model in developing metacognitive skills to confront COVID-19 pandemic, as well as developing students' positive attitude towards distance education among certain visually impaired students who form the research sample.
