This study is dealing with the social and religious situation in the city of Algiers during the second half of the 17th century; according to the writings of de RoqueVille wiche was an European origin prisoner, the purpose of the study is to change the western looking to the Muslims community and its traditions and religious; Therefore, it carry important observations concerning social and religious life, and these historical documents contributed to the presentation of one of the European sources absent from the history of the Ottoman Algeria, and revealed the trends of this type of historical writing, in the hope that researchers in the field will address this historical balance in the future and bring it to light.
