Abstract EN

This research, entitled (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder OCD–a doctrinal study), aims to clarify the meaning of OCD, its reality, its causes, its doctrinal effects, the legal ruling on who is afflicted with it, and how to treat it.

to achieve this, i relied on the inductive-analytical approach, and one of the most prominent results of the research that were reached is : that OCD is a fixed fact that sometimes affects a Muslim individual, as a result of various reasons, which may be genetic, physiological or environmental–in addition to the fact that the severity of OCD on a Muslim individual to may make him utter or do some of the creedal prohibitions, and that Allah does not punish the one who is afflicted with OCD, nor does he hold him accountable ; because this is a matter of compulsion.

moreover, the wise legislator has made ways and means for the treatment of this OCD, which the sufferer should grasp.

among the most important recommendations : carrying out other studies on this vital and important topic, that the family has a great role to play in helping people with OCD, and the necessity of dedicating sermons on Fridays to talk about this issue.
