The study handled the divorced woman’s financial, religious and legal rights ; maintenance, dowry and alimony.

it is a comparative study between the Islamic Figh and the Sudanese law for personal status for Muslims (1991).

the problem of the study is represented realizing some rights – financial, religious and legal for the divorcee through asking the key question : is the Sudanese law for personal status (1991) just for the divorced woman in obtaining her religiously mandated rights? the significance of the study is represented in the fact that the divorcee is part of the society affects and gets affected by the economic and social situations.

her financial and social stability leads to elimination of many societal problems.

the study aimed to recognize the role of law in providing financial rights to the divorcee, and realizing her status in the Sudanese law for personal status for the year (1991).

the study aims as well to recognizing the expected problems is the financial, religious and legal rights are not met.

the study adopted the descriptive analytical approach in clarifying the phenomenon, the study reached a number of findings, and the most important ones are : most of the divorcees are unaware of their religious after divorce, like right of maintenance, dowry and alimony.

many rights are lost because they never ask for them either because of ignorance or fear of the society.

the study recommended the following: those who intend to divorce should be told their religious rights and how to get them.
