The richest bio-resource of drugs for traditional systems of medicine are Medicinal plants .

The most common source of antimicrobial agents are plants .

Their usage as traditional health remedies is the most popular in Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Important subclasses of compounds include phenols, phenolic acids, quinines, flavones, flavonoids, flavones, tannins and coumarone are extracted from medicinal plants .
