Abstract EN

This article aims to address the issue of the doctrinal opinions of Hisham ben Amro Al-Fouti of Allah’s Divine Self, attributes, and Actions.

Al-Fouti was described as one of the theorists of Mu'tazilah, intelligent and argumentative.

the importance of the study lies in the status Al-Fouti enjoyed in Mu'tazili thought, in addition to his doctrinal opinions, which is dispersed in different sources.

this calls for collecting these opinions in independent researches, emphasizing their arrangement and rooting.

Al-Fouti is also considered the first to put a number of heresies, later spreading among the Mu'tazilah.

the study comes up with several findings, the most important of which are : 1- Abu Mohammed Hisham ben Amro Al-Fouti Al-Shaybani Al-Basri is considered one of the most prominent founders of the Mu’tazili thought, one of the great Mu’tazili scholars, and the leader of the Hashemite sect of Mu’tazilah.

2- Al-Fouti believes that Allah’s Will does not necessitate its desire, which is one of the two Mu’tazilah sayings on the matter.

3- Contradicting Mu'tazilah, Al-Fouti had a special unique opinion on the issue of Allah’s knowledge of things, explicitly denying it due to his philosophical sophistries.

4- Al-Fouti believes that if Allah creates something, he is never able to create it once again.

rather, his opinion is that Allah is able to create something else.

this saying is one of his opinions alone, and no one has said so, neither from the Mu'tazilah nor from others, which is actually Kufr.
