The aim of the research is to explore the effectiveness of the six dimensional strategy (PDEODE) in developing 5th graders scientific thinking skills in social studies.

the researchers used the experimental method, and the research sample consisted of 75 female students, they were divided into two groups : an experimental group of 37 female students, and a control group of 38 female students, the research tool was a test of scientific thinking skills.

results revealed statistically significant differences between the scores of the experimen tal and control groups on the test of scientific thinking skills in favor of the experimental group, the results also demonstrated the effectiveness of the six dimensional strategy in developing scientific thinking skills in the social studies section of the research sample in light of these results, the researchers recommended the necessity of directing social studies teachers to use modern teaching strategies to develop students' scientific thinking skills.
