The crisis between Iraq and Kuwait constitutes one of the most important crises in the modern history of Iraq, and its roots go back to the days of the Ottoman rule of the country, as Kuwait was affiliated with the state of Basra, affiliated at the time to the Turkish governor, and in 1870 Kuwait refused that and demanded sovereignty over its lands overlooking the Arabian Gulf, and in 1899 Kuwait was able to sign A secret treaty with Britain This treaty included Kuwait receiving concessions in return for Britain's pledge to defend it.This study dealt with five axes, the first of which was the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, and second: the position of the opposition on the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, and third: the conference of the Iraqi opposition in Damascus in 1990 and the formation of the Joint Action Committee, and fourth: the second Gulf War, and fifth: the position of the opposition on the second Gulf War.
