Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the effect of Posner's Model on modifying alternative syntactic perceptions among Eleventh Grade students in Jordan, and increase their motivation towards learning.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher constructed an achievement test consisting of (20) items.

The validity and reliability of the test were confirmed.

A motivational scale, consisting of (42) items divided into (7) domains with (6) items for each domain, was developed and its validity and reliability were also verified.

The researcher used the semi-experimental method, by dividing the study sample randomly into two groups: a control group and an experimental group consisting of (15) and (18) female students respectively.

The study was concluded with a number of results.

The most important of which is the presence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students in the experimental group and the control group, but in favor of the experimental group due to using Posner's Model in modifying their alternative syntactic perceptions.

The study also showed that there are statistical significant differences between the mean respones of students regarding motivation in the experimental group and the control group, in favor of the experimental group.

These differences are attributed to using Posner's Model in increasing the students' motivation towards learning syntactic concepts.

The study stressed the need to direct researchers to conduct similar studies in other academic stages, and emphasised the importace of increasing the awareness of curriculua specialists to the need to employ modern teaching models, and the need to organise training workshops for male and female teachers in modern methods of teaching.
