Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using a model based on the constructivist theory in developing the attitudes of ninth grade students towards English language in Jordan.

The researcher used the quasi-experimental approach, where she prepared a measure of the students’ attitudes towards the English language in a sample of (80) students divided into two equal groups (control (40) and experimental (40).The results showed an effect of using a model based on constructivist theory in developing Positive attitudes towards the content of the English language subject among the ninth graders, where the experimental sample students got a total average of (63.05), while the control sample students got a total average of 37.05, and the results showed the effect size on the Eta square, which amounted to (0.298).

and this explains (29%), Of the discrepancy in the students’ scores is due to the use of a model based on constructivist theory, and based on the results, the researcher recommended the necessity of adopting a model based on constructivist theory in teaching English language, because of its positive impact on developing the ninth grade students’ attitudes towards the English language subject.
