Flow injection analysis is can analyze multiple samples, high accuracy, a very fast response time, modern technical devices that are small.
This research intended to study the efficiency of ultrasound waves were determined total phenols in wastewater using Folin-Ciocalteu reagent in basic media .The sample or standard phenol solution were injected into a carrier stream to react with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent then expose it to ultrasound waves (46 kHz) which was detected by spectrophotometer at 765 nm.
The calibration curve for this method was in the range of (250-2000 ppm) .The average correlation coefficient was equal to(0.999).
Results of the experiments showed that the ultrasonic method significantly increase peak height after using ultrasound waves.
The method was successfully applied for the determination of the total phenols in wastewater.
