Abstract EN

The aim of the current research is to identify the academic procrastination among university students.

The current research was limited to the students of Qadisiyah University for the academic year (2021-2022), and the descriptive approach was adopted to achieve the objectives of the research, and the sample size was (600) male and female students from the University of Qadisiyah For the third and fourth stages, with a total of (300) male and (300) female students, and for scientific and humanitarian specializations, they were selected by stratified random method.

To achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared the academic procrastination scale tool, which: In its final form, it consisted of (33) items.

The apparent validity and construct validity of the scale items were verified, as well as the discriminatory power of its items was calculated.

Also, the value of the reliability coefficient was calculated using the Facronbach coefficient, which amounted to (0.92) and the stability by remeasurement method, which amounted to ( 0.84), and the two research tools were applied to the final research sample in the current semester (2021-2022), and statistical analysis and processing of the data was carried out using Microsoft Excel and the Statistical Portfolio for Social Sciences (SPSS) program, and the following results were reached: 1) Possession of Students have a low level of academic procrastination.

2) There are no statistically significant differences according to the gender variable (scientific, human) in academic procrastination, and there are statistically significant differences according to the specialization variable (scientific, human) and in favor of the scientific specialization.

Relying on the results that were reached, the researcher made a number of recommendations.
