This research aims to monitor the words in the dictionary of Lisan al-Arab by Ibn Manzur (d.

711 AH) that denote the characteristic of height in a man and study them according to the theory of semantic fields, showing the semantic relations between these words of synonymy, association, antonym and inclusion, limited to the words that carry the connotation of height as an attribute in the body of a man.

As a whole, except for the words that indicate it in the parts of his body, and the words in it were divided into two fields arranged in the research according to the principle of the abundance of words in them
