The effect of temperature fluctuations on the increase in dust storms in Baghdad governorate

Abstract EN

Various dust phenomena (sand storms, flying dust, suspended dust) have become common climatic phenomena in Iraq, especially in recent decades.

There are two main reasons for these phenomena, one of which is climate change, which affects the lack of rain, the reduction of green spaces and the rise in temperatures, and the other is the result of human activities represented by "agricultural mismanagement".

"Land" and many areas prone to the movement of military machinery and business due to long wars, dispersing soil surfaces and then raising dust, may be local or regional.

In this study, the effect of 2991 to 1021 temperature change was studied (it was found that the effect of climate change on the dust phenomenon in Baghdad station).

Winds rise, precipitation, relative humidity, the impact of dust storms and changes of suspended dust at a height, while rising dust falls.

Correlation coefficients between these climatic factors and the dust phenomenon were also calculated.
