The impact of the 5E strategy on the development of attention skills for fourth grade primary students in the English Language subject

The study aims to identify the impact of the 5 E strategy in the development of attention skills for students of the fourth grade primary in the English language, and to achieve the goal of the study the researcher developed a zero hypothesis, and the study population consists of all students of the fourth grade primary in the schools of the Directorate of Education of the Tal Kaif / Nineveh Governorate for the academic year (2021-2022), and the sample of the study included (41) students selected intentionally from the study community distributed on Two groups, the experimental group included (21) students who studied according to the strategy of 5E, and the control group included (20) students who studied according to the usual method, and the researcher was rewarded between these two groups in a number of variables (chronological age, English language grades in the second semester of the academic year (2021-2022), and the achievement level of the parents).

Achieving the goal of the study required the existence of a tool to measure attention skills, where a scale of (38) paragraphs with four axes (visual communication, imitation skill, initiation skill, response skill) with triple alternatives (always happens, our loved ones happen, never happens) based on previous studies.

The sincerity of the instrument was calculated using apparent honesty and truthfulness of the content, while the stability was calculated using the equation (alpha-Cron Bach).

The coefficient of stability has reached (0.82).

After collecting, correcting and analyzing the data using the T test (T – TEST ) for two independent samples, the results showed a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the pupils in the experimental group and the control group in attention skills and in favor of the experimental group, and in the light of the results of the study the researcher came up with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
