Abstract EN

This research aims at conducting a critical and analytical reading of a poem from our ancient literature (Moqeem wa Dhaaheb) by Ibn Khafaajah.

The poet is considered as the pioneer of the poets of nature for his love as well as his distinct positive outlook that he was renowned for.

We intend to explore the narrative structure in the poem, starting from the title as it is supposed to have an interpretative value, continuing by highlighting the narration context, and concluding with the functions of narration and its mechanisms, according to the poet’s visualization of his environment and the extent of applying expressive devices in the art of description.

As for the research approach, the study adopted the descriptive approach that traces the literary text in its internal structure.
