Abstract EN

I get attracted by the debate among scholars and authors of literature that the literature in the Umayyad era was a copy of the Pre-Islamic literature, and its apostasy, and characterized by the same artistic spirit that characterized the PreIslamic poetry, and is in linear with its spirit and its construction and even with its subjects.

For me, this claim is inaccurate and may give the result of populist documents that have inspired Arab critics, crept to them quietly and cunningly.

This claim has encouraged me to trace the truth in more literary and cultural efforts than I can bear and present them in this research .

The research began with distinguishing Al-Rajaz from a poem by mentioning its characteristics that it has of its own.

Then we listed the essential characteristics that the Umayyad era has added to this art by adding to this art until it became powerful and mature to narrate the power, maturity, independence and authenticity of Arab literature in the Umayyad era.

I came to know that the most important characteristics that depict the flourishing status of the art of Al-Rajz in this age are; the developing of the constructed areas, particularly the substantive construction, as well as the skillful men in this era with the greatest form of the Al-Rajza .

The two approaches; descriptive and recovery are the most suitable with the nature of this research.

I have followed and benefited from the two said approaches .
