Living in diaspora both changes and redefines the psychological character of the exiled mobile diasporic person and the returnee's cultural, social, and linguistic assimilation and belonging to his homeland.

the primary goal of this paper is to demonstrate how the home of the migrants is specified by their mobilities and hence subjectivity and home change continuously as the environment and the context of the diasporic person have been dislocated.

the study also investigates how 'return' and 'identity' are negotiated in order to explore that the decolonization of identity in diaspora opens up alternative home spaces.

theories of culture and identity acquisition are adopted to address these questions in Andrea Levy's fruit of the lemon and small island, which reflect different aspects of marginalization and transformation in the British society.
