Abstract EN

This study aims at high lining the three main challenges that have been and still being the main cause of the loss of archaeology in the world in general and in the Arab countries in particular.

These challenges are negligence, internal and external armed conflicts.

The study discusses the negative impact of negligence on the archaeology within the State of Kuwait as the main cause for the loss and destruction of many important archeological sites.

The study, also, reviews various destructive effects of civil war on archaeology in the Egyptian Arab Republic and the Syrian Arab Republic.

The study examines and the disastrous consequences of external wars on the archaeology in the Republic of Iraq.

In conclusion, the study highlights the culpability and the legal responsibility of the different parties in each of these countries according to the international laws and treaties protecting archaeological sites as human heritage.
