Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the educational repercussions and delimitations of the use of social media in the educational process by university students from the point of view of the students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Sheba Region.

The study population consisted of (1395) students of the academic year (2022), among whom (601) were males making (43%) of the population, and (794) were female students making (47%).

A random sample of (279) male and female students from the population responded to the questionnaire.

The researcher adopted the descriptive approach reaching to a set of results most notably ones being a very high degree of agreement on the two themes of the negative and positive repercussions of using social media in the educational process from the students' point of view, as well as a very high degree of agreement of the suggested delimitations in using social media among university students in the educational process.

Thereby, the researcher reached to identify a set of negative and positive repercussions of using social media at the university level education along with a set of educational delimitations to avoid those negative repercussions that were comprised in the questionnaire.

The study recommended that the university leadership play its role in qualifying faculty members and providing them with the necessary skills to employ social media in the educational process.

Furthermore, the study recommended the conversion of the proposed educational delimitations into procedures through which a moral code of honor can be developed to employ social media in any aspect of the educational process.
