Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the impact of micro-teaching strategy on the development of teaching performance in practical education among student-teachers at the Faculty of Education in Al-Mahrah governorate, affiliated to Hadhramout University.

The researcher used the quasi-experimental method of a single group design.

The study population consisted of third-level students in the college, from which a purposive sample of (35) male and female students was chosen.

As its instrument to measure teaching performance, the study used an observation card consisting of (30) items using a five-point Likert rating scale of aggregated estimates.

There were a set of findings in the study, most notably of which was the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of student-teacher performances in the two measurements of teaching performance in the pre and post measurements for the benefit of the post-measurement.

Further, the impact of micro-teaching in developing teaching performance was average.

There were also statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores for students‟ performance in the post measurement of the teaching performance attributed to gender in favor of females.

Accordingly, the researcher recommended the application of micro-teaching strategy in preparation programs for students of faculties of education prior to employment.
